Asst. Prof Hazal Algan Canseven graduated from Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School in 2008 and completed her degree at Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law in 2014, graduating second in her class.
In 2015, she enrolled in the Human Rights Law Master’s Program at the Istanbul Bilgi University Institute of Social Sciences. She earned her LL.M. degree in 2017 with her thesis titled “Türk Ceza Kanunu’nda Organ ve Doku Ticareti Suçları” (Crimes of Organ and Tissue Trafficking in the Turkish Penal Code), which she prepared and defended.
She began her doctoral studies in 2022 at the Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences Public Law Department. She successfully completed her doctoral education and earned the title of Doctor of Laws by defending her thesis titled “Ceza Muhakemesinde Kanun Yoluna Başvuru Hakkı” (The Right to Apply to Legal Remedies in Criminal Procedure).
She predominantly focuses her academic and professional work on the fields general criminal law, criminal procedure law, law of execution of sentences, international criminal law, law of minor offenses/misdemeanors, and juvenile criminal law. She has two published books in the field of criminal law, along with articles published in various peer-reviewed journals, and numerous papers presented at national and international scientific events.
