Asst. Prof. Merve Arbak graduated from Marmara Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi (Marmara University Faculty of Law) in 2014. In the same year, she started the Private Law Master’s Program at the Marmara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Özel Hukuk Anabilim Dalı (Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences Private Law Department) and successfully defended her thesis titled “Sigortalı Hizmetlerin Yargı Kararıyla Tespiti” (Determination of Insured Services by Judicial Decision) in 2016, which was accepted unanimously.
In 2016, she began her doctoral education in the Private Law Department at Marmara University. In 2021, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis titled “İşverenin Fesih Hakkının Toplu İş Sözleşmesiyle Sınırlandırılması” (Restriction of the Employer’s Right to Terminate by Collective Labor Agreement), earning the title of Doctor of Laws.
Since 2023, she has been working as an Assistant Professor in the İş ve Sosyal Güvenlik Hukuku Anabilim Dalı (Labor and Social Security Law Department) at the 29 Mayıs University Faculty of Law. Asst. Prof. Arbak has published peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, papers, and one book in the fields of labor law and social security law.
