Nida Erdem completed her undergraduate education at İstanbul Hukuk Fakültesi (Istanbul University Faculty of Law); she completed both her master’s and doctoral education in the thesis-based programs within the Kamu Hukuku Bölümü (Public Law Department) of the İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü (Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences).
She earned the title of hukuk doktoru Doctor of Laws after completing her master’s thesis on “Türk Ceza Hukuku ve Kabahatler Hukukunda Tüzel Kişilerin Sorumluluğu” (The Liability of Legal Persons in Turkish Criminal Law and Misdemeanor Law) and her doctoral work on “İdarenin Taraf Olduğu Sözleşmelerde ‘Sözleşmede Değişiklik’ ve Sözleşmede Değişikliğin Özel Bir Türü Olarak ‘Uyarlama’” ('Modification of Contract' in Contracts to which the Administration is a Party, and 'Adaptation' as a Special Type of Contract Modification).
She concentrates her studies on the fields of idarenin sözleşmeleri (administrative contracts), idari yaptırımlar (administrative sanctions), kabahatler hukuku (law of misdemeanors/minor offenses), çevre hukuku (environmental law), ihale hukuku (public procurement law), and personel hukuku (personnel law). She has one book, multiple book chapters, peer-reviewed articles, papers, and translations published in these areas.
