After graduating Istanbul University Faculty of law in Turkey, Asst. Prof. Gules completed the LL.M. programme at Temple University School of Law in the United States. Following her graduation, she received Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho:MEXT) for doctoral study and completed the Ph.D. programme at Nagoya University Graduate School of Law in Japan. During her graduate studies she was awarded the grant for superior research and visited New York University School of Law and Cornell Law School in the United States. In the capacity of Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she performed work at the OECD in Paris and the United Nations in New York. Besides teaching, she has been working as a legal consultant in Istanbul and New York. Currently she is teaching as a full-time faculty member at Istanbul 29 Mayis University Faculty of Law. She is an expert in the areas of Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law and Contract Law and interested in patents, biotechnology, information technologies and artificial intelligence.
